English Language Programs
Students can begin their English studies at any time of year at Empire State English since classes are offered year-round with a rolling admissions model. Short-term programs are one to three months long. Long-term programs—four to eighteen months—are for students who wish to perfect their English in the United States or who plan on matriculating to a local college or university to continue their studies.

Our Programs
Students are encouraged to be actively engaged learners. With a student-centered approach students learn to collaborate and communicate with one with another.
With a 4:1 average student to faculty ratio and 15 ability levels, Empire State English provides the best in small group language study. In addition to the structured English classes and TOEFL preparation, elective classes include topics like pronunciation, presentation skills, business English, and even classes in effective email writing. Classes help students achieve their personal, professional, and academic goals.

Intensive English (ESL)
Empire State English offers Intensive English as a Second Language (ESL) programs for university students and older adults, both those who live locally as well as visitors to the area. Our IELP involves at least 20 hours per week of instruction.

English Classes
Our part-time program for local residents offers classes during the day or the evening, from as little as one hour per week to as many as eighteen hours per week. Find a class that fits your schedule.

College Connections
Students may obtain conditional admission through a local partner college before beginning at Empire State English. With 25+ colleges and universities in the region, there are many options for international students after finishing an ESL program.
