English Classes

Empire State English offers an array of courses to meet your needs.  Whether you have just arrived to the United States or have been here for years, we can help you improve your proficiency in English.  Our academic director and qualified instructors will assess your proficiency level, needs and goals and help you to find the perfect class.

Our Classes

Part time English is defined as 17 or fewer hours of English per week. Some students opt to take just two classes per week; others prefer more intensive classes of 10 hours per week.

If you live in the Capital Region and are hoping to improve your English in a professional classroom, please fill out our form and we will contact you.  If you are traveling from abroad, please enter the U.S. from a visa waiver country or visit on a tourist visa.  Tourist visas allow you to take part-time ESL classes as long as you provide this information during your interview.

General English courses

Our General English courses are each 20 hours in length.

Beginner 1 - 12 Pre-Intermediate 1-12 Intermediate 1-12 Upper Intermediate 1-12 Advanced 1-12

 

For our three beginning levels we offer additional 20 hour courses in case as student needs additional practice.  There courses are called Focus on Skills and serve as a review of the Beginner 1 through Intermediate 3 curricula.

ESL Electives

In addition to the General English courses we have specialized courses of 20 or 30 hours in length.
